The other site is experiencing some technical difficulties…well…it’s actually the stupid web host, but whatever. But if you went there and got this, that’s why. Until they can pull their heads out of their collective rear ends and figure out what’s up with my domain, you get to read this page. Thanks for playing.
In commemoration of Taylor having been crowned with the title of American Idol last night (deservedly so), I’d like to share this worthwhile video clip of a fine performance of Elvis’s In The Ghetto. Quality.
Patrick and raquel dot com has been redesigned and as of about five minutes ago has been launched. Go check it out and add it to your RSS reader. Pictures will be up before this week is up.
I am a lucky man to have been surrounded by some amazing people at a time when I wasn’t so amazing. We returned tonight from the whirlwind road trip to College Station and a detour this morning to Houston (an airport run). Louie and Rebecca’s wedding was pleasant (hot as hell, but a nice ceremony), and the afternoon and evening spent with Dan and Mel, reconnecting with an old dear friend, Andy Sapp, with whom I had fallen out of touch and some other nice folks (friends of the bride and groom). Hours in the motel pool, doing cannonballs, karate kicks, and getting burned. Lots of laughs and reminscing over some quality pizza and dessert. Looking at pictures of times past and looking with hope toward the future.
I am so blessed to consider these folks true friends and vice versa. Thank you to the beautiful Lundmark family, and to my dear friend, Andy. It was a beautiful time this weekend.
We are in College Station, Texas right now. That’s right, folks…the booming metropolis of. We’re in town for Louie’s wedding and we’ll be spending time with the Lundmarks, the Birches, and of course Louie and his new bride whom I’ve not ever met. Good times with old friends. We’re staying in the ever-so-homey Howard Johnson’s Express Inn…yeah…this place is pretty ghetto. Raquel’s kinda nervous about this place but I think it’ll suffice. Anyhow…that’s where we are. Fun stuff.
Why do people still listen to Pat Robertson? I can’t believe anyone takes him seriously. Check out his latest. Surf’s up.
The other site is getting a facelift. I’ve been busy with that, which accounts for the inactivity on this side. I’m working on putting together a photoblog over there and we’ll be chronicling the progress of the aforementioned new house.
They’re pouring the slab today. Exciting stuff!
If anyone is interested in seeing some of the pictures we’ve taken, go see the pics on my MySpace profile. While you’re there, take a moment to listen to the incredible piece of music that I have playing. Umphrey’s McGee is rapidly ascending to the top of my favorite bands list. Pure greatness.
EDIT: As you can see, I decided to tweak this one a little bit as well. I like the color scheme much better. Much more…me.
I played some beach volleyball tonight with a few folks from church. There’s a great outdoor bar with six courts in SoCal-beach-type sand out in Denton called Sandstormz. It was a good time. We played three games, all of which we lost. However, we’ve never played together as a team though, and some of us haven’t played at all in years. That said, we played really well, just not enough to win. We’ll play a few more, grow a little more cohesive and it’ll be good.
Raquel didn’t even know that I play volleyball so it was fun for her to watch. I’m looking forward to playing some more next week.
